Adama Traore breezed past the Swiss international on several occasions, utilising his pace and trickery as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side pulled off an impressive victory against the Gunners.
And Wolves couldn’t help but take a dig at Xhaka’s inability to deal with the threat of Traore, posting a video on their TikTok page with the caption: ‘How NOT to mark Adama Traore.’
Arsenal are languishing in 14th place in the table having earned a meagre 13 points from their opening 10 Premier League games this season.
The Gunners travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to take on table-toppers Spurs in the north London derby.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of this weekend’s crunch game, Mikel Arteta outlined the need for his side to pull off a ‘big result’.
‘I think it’s the perfect game to get a lift, regenerate some belief in the league because in the other competitions we have been really good but we need a big result,’ the Spaniard said.
‘I cannot think about any better scenario than that, to go and beat them and change things dramatically in one game.’
‘Obviously there is a difference now between the teams in terms of points, we know the game that we are expecting,’ Arteta added.
‘They are in good form at the moment, they have been getting really good results and I see a team that is convinced of what they are doing. But we are going to go there to try and win the game.’
